Morning sketch....just messing around with some different ideas...then realized I was back to rendering rocks...which I think I spend 80% of my time doing and realized it was time to move on .

HI! Just been painting away....Um here is a robot in the rain....yep I do love crazy robots. The next two sketches were done right after downloading sketchling's newest swatch set from CGhub.com(http://cghub.com/scripts/view/178/). It goes the main colors across the top and a warm/cool grad downward. It was interesting to use because almost all of the swatches are near 100% saturation, which is completely opposite of the way I usually paint. I almost always paint pretty desaturated (which I really like) and too dark(which I'm working on), and that is illustrated in my last painting which is a landscape I did for fun...love them clouds and rocks...can't get enough!

oh yeahs

Yep just did some indoor black and white studies. Realized I haven't really done any indoor paintings in about 2 years haha so I thought I would stretch my indoor painting legs and did these...Mostly just stick to perspective and everything else just falls into place :-) Basically made a two point perspective grid and roughed in the shape of the room..blocked in all the walls as pretty much solid values until the room started to work as a room in 3d space and then added some detail...As of recently I have been painting much more zoomed out and actually have been giving my navigator window in PS a lot of attention. It really helps you focus where the overall objects actually sit in 3d space in your painting. And the last one is a robot sketch. I was really focusing on the overall shape and colors and really tried to disregard the details.

Just finished this one up...Started with a bunch of thumbs...Love painting these..just quick and dirty...just stretching out your ideas. I then took the last thumb and started blocking it out...super rough with lots of underlying texture. I then started detailing and getting the general color right, making sure that it steps back in space.I really wanted to get a heavy atmosphere so I did trees and structures in the back with a really soft brushes and ended up washing back over them to compress the values and try and squeeze as much depth out of the haze as possible. In the final I painted in the lights and added more details and texture.

And I cropped it...Cause I like it better like this.
